If you’ve ever wanted to write your own book, but thought it was too complicated, this is your lucky day!
A couple years ago, I wrote a book based on my Desert Storm diary. I had some help, but instead of just doing the writing and passing the “heavy lifting” to my editor, I paid attention to how things were getting done. Later on, I wrote another book, just for practice, and this time I did it all myself, from writing, to editing, cover design, and the final formatting and creating the files the book was printed from. Then it was just a matter of uploading the files, and a few days later I had my Proof copy. It did cost a bit of money, but seriously, it was less than $10 per copy! Amazing right?
Better yet, I can show you how to do it, too!
What I have, here today, is a work in progress. I’d really encourage you to download the document, in PDF, of what I have so far, and then leave me comments of how you thing I should improve it!
Writing a book is done in steps. The actual publishing part isn’t all that important until you get the writing and editing part done! If you are already to publish, and you don’t think I gave enough details of that part, please do email me, at carlin.comm@gmail.com and we’ll discuss details. I might be able to help you for free, or I might discuss some kind of a fee, depending on how much help you need. And how much time I have!
For now, go check out the file, and then leave me some comments!
Normal tricks apply, right click and “save” to your computer. Or just open it, that works too!
You Can Self Publish – by Carlin Comm – Oct 2010 version
Briefly, I self published 2 books. In this document, I tell you some of what I learned while doing that. Later on, I’ll probably sell this as a fabulous “how to be rich and famous” or something. But in the mean time, because its not finished, I’m hoping to have people read it, and tell me all the things that need fixing.
So please do read it, and comment back here, or email me directly, anything you love about it, hate about it, or just really don’t understand.
Enjoy!
Carlin
